‘swamp tea’ (Labrador tea)
This is thanks to elder Clara Pearson, Nehalem Tillamook Salish, cited on page 91 of the really fine book “The Nehalem Tillamook: An Ethnography” by Elizabeth Jacobs, edited by William R Seaburg.
Clara Pearson noted that Labrador tea is good for colds.
This important shrub, Rhododendron (formerly Ledum) columbianum, a.k.a. muskeg tea, grows widely in the west of the Canada and USA.
