Mox Boarding House?
Today’s post is a crowdsourced question for my readers…
Walking around town, I found a doormat that said “Mox Boarding House“.
This turns out to be a chain of gaming stores/restaurants/bars in the Seattle area.
It was started by two brothers.
Is the name intended as “Mox”, the Chinook Jargon word for ‘two’?
Anyone out there know more than I’m finding online?
Mox would be in reference to Magic: the gathering card game. It apparently is a shortening of moxie http://www.allenvarney.com/av_mgcwords.html
I really enjoy your blog. Who knew finding out the meaning of Olalla would lead to this? ^_^
