And more about ‘people’ being fundamentally Indigenous
On the point that I’ve made many times, that tilixam ‘people’ is fundamentally ‘Indigenous people’, here’s a beautiful and scary example:
I’ll just pick up where some vigilante White people from Kamloops have invaded the Indian Reserve seeking Casimir, who has just shot a Settler to death.
The Whites have threatened to burn down an Indigenous person’s house where Casimir is taking refuge, and to put:
…ayu pawdir kikuli kopa ukuk haws pi
‘…a lot of gunpowder under the house and’mamuk pu ukuk pawdir: ayu tilikom
‘blow it up; lots of (Indigenous) people’klatwa kopa styuil haws pi mamuk styuil
‘went to the church and prayed’kopa ST pus ilo ikta piltin klaska mamuk.
‘to God for their actions not to be sinful.’Pi ST mamuk klahawiam kopa klaska pi
‘And God had mercy on them and’kakwa Kamlups tilikom pi Kamlups tkop man
‘so the Kamloops (Indigenous) people and the Kamloops Whites’ilo tlap klahawiam ukuk son.
‘didn’t end up pitiful that day.’
There you go.
