Also a horse word?
I venture to claim that limulo ‘wild’ in Chinuk Wawa is just another horse word.

The horse-color words in Chinook Jargon being, as a rule, French masculine definite articles + adjectives (because cheval ‘horse’ is masculine) that were being used as nouns (‘the cream-colored one’ for instance).
I know, I know, ‘wild’ isn’t a color of horse 😁
But it’s another category of horse that you also hear talked about all the time here in western North America. So, le marron…
Seems like a solid case, no?
Bonus fact:
Limulo has various synonyms, when used as a general adjective beyond horse culture. We also find wayl (from English wild) and shawash (the word for ‘Indigenous’).
