Mid-Columbia pidgin sub-dialect of Central dialect of Chinook Jargon: Part 1 ‘donkey’
When folks commented in the past that each locale had a slightly different Chinuk Wawa, they rarely specified what they were noticing.
Louis-Napoléon St Onge, however, pointed out specific words and phrases unique to the Mid-Columbia River area, where he worked in the 1870s or so.

[literally a ‘deer horse’, likely due to the big ears]
[meaning:] ‘donkey’
[area:] “Yakima.”
