“Klahowya: A Fort Nisqually Book”

Western Washington state’s Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, home of the Klahowya Event, has a new book you’ll be interested in:

Christine Pinto’s “Klahowya: A Fort Nisqually Book in Chinook Wawa and English“, wonderfully illustrated by Christine Schuler.

It’s a fun way to take in a decent amount of Chinuk Wawa vocabulary about the adventures of two cats, Mahsie and Eena 😊, who live at Fort Nisqually.

As the proud owner of an autographed copy, I can recommend “Klahowya” as a great gift for the Chinookers in your life.

While you’re shopping at Fort Nisqually’s website, you can also get their excellent “Fort Nisqually Sketchbook”.

And, can you say it in Chinook Jargon?
