I’m back from a vacation in Chinook Jargon country. More about that in a post soon.
For today, I want to remind you of our upcoming Chinook Jargon Gathering @ Fort Langley historical site in BC, on Friday and Saturday, the 12th and 13th of September. It’ll go all day both days.
This will be approximately our 7th Chinuk-Wawa Gathering in 27 years…so don’t miss this opportunity! We’ve had a good number of RSVP’s (see below), and our lineup of presenters is looking stellar ✴️🌟🤩⭐✳️

It’ll be on Friday & Saturday, September 12th & 13th, 2025.
The location: Fort Langley National Historical Site, near Vancouver, BC, Canada.
It’ll run from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM both days.
THE PUBLIC IS INVITED!
There’s plenty of room for you.
What will we be doing at this CJ Gathering?
- Meeting other people who are interested in the Jargon!
- Learning songs!
- Hearing Fort Langley staff tell how they use the Jargon in their work!
- Practicing conversation, from very beginners on up!
- Learning what role Fort Langley played in the history of the Jargon!
- Seeing the differences between the dialects!
- Read a CJ letter from Langley!
- Sharing opportunities to stay involved with Jargon!
- Planning future gatherings!
- Learning to read & write the historic Chinuk-Pipa alphabet!
- Hearing your presentation, if you want to make one! (Plus presentations by the experts!)
I’m told there will be some kind of swag, as well 😁
