This column by “O. Kokeman” (get it?)* tells of a visiting “Chinook canoe” carrying Indian Agent Chas. Willoughby and “the doctor as interpreter”.
That’s James G. Swan, who we all ought to know plenty about in the Chinook Jargon world.
Neat little bits of Jargon from a time when the language was in heavy daily use on the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
