A word for ‘batteries’ in Jargon: “Faraday machine”!
Sometimes Chinook Jargon can be downright steampunk!

That word Faradi* on the page was slightly unclear to me, at first sight. I wondered if it was Fraidi, the usual word for ‘Friday’.
But thanks to Julie Baumler for the observation that this likely indicates a “Faraday machine”, an electric battery!
Bonus fact:
There happens to be a Faraday Island in British Columbia. It’s in Haida Gwaii. It was named, in another coincidence of interest to us, by Chinook Jargon speaker George M. Dawson.
